Tadashi Shoji Pre-Fall 2016

Fashion will always be my happy pill. A new favorite designer I've recently discovered is Tadashi Shoji (see his website here). I am, in particular, eyeing the Pre-Fall 2016 collection. Being a type of person who's not a fan of over-the-top designs, I really appreciate that this collection is simple yet full of intricate details, feminine yet doesn't show too much skin, full of blacks but rich hues are also added.

Saturday Shopping: (Semi) Faux Leather Jacket

So yesterday I went to SM Megamall. My main objective was to look for a dental clinic who performs TMJ xray. But after checking the clinics in the fifth floor and after finding my search to be unsuccessful, I just went to the other floors to check the shops. I actually miss window shopping. It's been almost two months of me being stuck in my apartment every weekend so I thought I would make the most of my time in SM Mega.

Come lunch time, I met up with Shayne. We ate at a Thai restuarant called Soi. It's got to be one of my favorite restos out there. And whenever I went to Soi (they also have branches in other malls), Tom yum goong (hot and sour Thai soup with shrimp) is my go-to! I love the distinct and rich flavor and how healthy that dish is.

So after having a full and satisfied stomach, we strolled and looked inside several shops. I said to myself I would only buy a cheap shirt or blouse. Then we came in front of Guess. Shayne saw that they were on sale. I've never been to Guess. I used to pass by their shops in other malls, primarily because I felt that their clothing doesn't fit with my style or fashion preference. Their style is more on the basic with an edge of sexiness. I, however, love simple, clean, sophisticated, ladylike pieces. Another reason is the price tag. Seriously, I would not buy something beyond P3,000 especially if they are just a pair of jeans or a jacket or some basic pieces. So guess what, I got a (semi) faux leather jacket! "Semi" because it's not entirely made of faux leather. The sleeves and the back part are made of fabric.

Even if I lived in South Korea for two years, I never bought a leather jacket. Ever. So it's kind of ironic that now that I'm here in the Philippines I would be buying something like that. Well, I actually like it! I like the fit and the fact that it is not made up of leather entirely. And here's the catch - it was on sale!!! From P5,598 ($119), I got it for only P1,699 ($36).

I'd probably not use it in the time being. But I'm hoping to use it if ever I go to a country with four seasons. I could use it in autumn or spring, partner it with a scarf, shirt, pants, and boots. Or with a dress. I actually have a lot of ideas in my mind already. Haha!

Monique Lhuillier's Ready To Wear Pre Fall 2016 collection has got so much for everybody - from trendy dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, to formal gowns. There are outfits that scream fun and loud when it comes to colors while others are sophisticated and classy and delicate. Below are my favorites:

Saturday Shopping

Last Saturday (Sept. 26) I went to the city to meet with my friend, Shayne (aka my travel buddy) to discuss some important matters. We headed first to the DFA office for me to confirm if my passport has been released already. And yay! The officer told me it's already in LBC (the delivery service). Whew, felt like one stress gone. Then, we strolled and check out different shops because...GIRLS! Haha!

It's really nice that SM Megamall has the Fashion Hall catering different global brands, such as Uniqlo, Topshop, H&M, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Zara, etc. Since autumn season has officially started in other parts of the world, even though it's hot and humid here as alway, I'm glad I can feel the autumn vibe just by looking at the shops' displays.

I actually want to buy everything in Promod. I love their blouses, especially the boxy types (my signature blouse). They not only look good but when you run your fingers on the fabric, you can feel that the material is of good quality. But then again, as of now, I can't afford to spend thousands of pesos just for blouses. Maybe sometime in the future or when they're on sale.

Speaking of sale, H&M got lots of discounts that time so that's where I bought some stuff. And here they are:

I've already worn the sandals and they are so comfortable to walk with. And I also didn't get some painful sores in my feet. Wise buy indeed! Can't wait to wear the dress and the blouse soon.

Gorman Winter 2015

I've always liked simple, classy looks but sometimes a little experimentation wouldn't hurt. It's important to explore and look at some ideas outside of your comfort zone. As for me, that would be a bit of quirky prints, patterns, and colors here and there. A new discovery from Australian label Gorman, Gorman's Winter 2015 collection pretty sums it all up.

Note: This was supposed to be last night's post. While writing, I decided to just rest my eyes (you know closing it for just a short time) but sleep got the better of me. Hihi.

Yay! Finally, it's Friday! The whole week is just about the usual...work, work, work. So excitement really kicks in when Friday comes. Although there's really not much happening in my life right now, I'm just happy that my weekends are spent as my "me-time". I can do whatever I want, be it sleep longer, clean my room, do the laundry, meet friends, stroll in the mall, or just lounge in my room. I'm not that sociable (I honestly feel my social skills are lacking) so I'm really not into doing activities which involve a lot of people (e.g. parties). Anyway, after letting my problems out in my previous post, I just want to share some of my favourites when it comes to fashion.

NAST Conference

Since today is a holiday, I am just here spending the rest of the day in my apartment. It's the perfect time to rest and, well, do some general cleaning later. Haha! Geez that's my life these days. There's not really much happening but let me share some moments of last week's event that me and my colleagues attended. The 37th Annual Meeting of National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) held at the Manila Hotel. It's a two-day meeting filled with talks about non-communicable diseases - the topic for this year.

Setting aside the technical aspect, let's proceed to fashion. In case you notice, I finally get to wear the Mango dress I got on sale! Yipee! Imagine my excitement wearing it because I only get to wear dresses on very few occasions.

I paired it with a black blazer and heels and my trusted conference bag. If you've seen my other posts on the previous conferences I attended, you'll always see this bag. It's because I really bought this bag for the purpose of attending such events. As I learned through the years, it's important to invest in good quality bag, shoes, blazers, and dresses when you're attending conferences/seminars/meetings. I still have to find slacks and blouses though. But personally, I prefer wearing dresses and blazers.

Even though it's wet outside, the rain couldn't stop me from checking the pool and of course, taking a picture. 

By the way, during this time, the Philippines has just experienced two typhoons in one week. So it's raining hard for several days and the classes were suspended. Good thing, the typhoons were not that strong.
